Starting a vending machine business might just be the way of the future

If you're looking for a unique, low-risk, long-lasting, and profitable new business opportunity, starting a vending machine business is an option worth considering. This is a business that can be done as a part-time business, so it won't take up too much of your time.

Vending machines are a phenomenon today, in this "fast-paced" age. Here are some facts that explain why a vending machine business is worth considering:

- Cumulatively, the global vending machine business generates sales of no less than 8 billion dollars per year.

- It is a cash-based business with a fast turnaround.

- In the United States alone there are more than 5 million vending machines.

- Most of the commodities sold are frozen drinks.

The majority of commodities sold by vending machines (globally) are a variety of frozen drinks but pizza and hamburgers are now pushing their way to the forefront. There have been more vending machines built for pizza and hamburgers in recent years. At the Beverly Hills mall, the vending machines even sell some expensive items like bottarga, escargot, and caviar! The growing popularity of vending machines has also initiated businesses like ice cream vending machine rental.

Why vending machines?

There are several reasons why vending machines might be the future of your business:

- In many of the world's major cities, people tend to buy prepared food through vending machines for hygiene reasons.

- Vending machines significantly reduce the number of employees needed. As long as you have people to maintain your machines, you won't be in trouble. Of course, you can do everything yourself, for example with a machine for pizza making.

- The investment costs tend to be low. Okay, you might have to pay more than $8,000 for one machine but think about the savings for years to come. You don't need to rent an office, you don't need to hire a lot of employees, and of course your vending machine can be the best testing tool to see if your product is accepted by the public. You can start with just one machine and continue with other machines in other locations if you find that your products are accepted by the public.

- It's a nice simplicity because basically, once you've placed your machine in one place, you only need to change products, find money, and do maintenance when needed.

- Since it's a cash-based vending machine, you won't be bothered with receivables issues. Your customers receive your products after they pay. Done!

- This is a flexible business as you can move your machines to other locations that you feel are more profitable.

Aside from a small start-up capital or financing, the only other requirement is a reasonable level of physical fitness of whoever is servicing the machines, as this entails a fair amount of walking and carrying products (especially heavier ones like beverage boxes).
